Bally’s Plans to Broadcast Minor League Baseball Games This Spring

Bally Casino to start broadcasting baseball minor league

Bally Casino has announced that starting from April 6, all minor league baseball games will be available for streaming on its Bally Live App, allowing baseball fans to watch every game.

It also means that Phillies fans can watch their top prospects without paying fees. In addition, the introduction of Bally Casino in Pennsylvania could potentially lead to the integration of its rewards program, online casino, and sports betting.

Furthermore, this move by Bally Casino could potentially change the future of how sports fans watch their favorite games.

Options to Stream Minor League Baseball Games with Bally’s

According to media reports, baseball fans can stream all 120 minor league teams on the Bally Live App. However, it looks like the stream services won’t be on the online casino app.

Previously, fans were required to pay an annual fee of $29.99 on the MLB At Bat Live app to access minor league games. However, with Bally, fans can now watch these games free of charge.

Repercussions of Bally’s Streaming Feature for the PA Online Casino

MLB will now access 750,000 online players monthly through its partnership with Bally’s, significantly increasing from 40,000 subscribers to MLB At Bat Live.

This collaboration will introduce unparalleled gamification experiences for fans, including free games such as Baseball Bingo and opportunities to earn Bally’s Reward points.

MLB has previously awarded “experience points” to fans who played free games such as Beat The Streak and Quick Pitch via an MLB.com account. By collecting points and virtual trophies, fans could customize their profile and win MLB memorabilia, merchandise, tickets, and other rewards.

Bally’s gaming platform could offer similar programs and games through the Bally Live App, which can also integrate with its online casino.

Bally Has a New Online Casino Coming to Pennsylvania

Bally online casino is a new player in the Pennsylvania betting market. Bally’s was granted Qualified Gaming Entity (QGE) status by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) to introduce online slots that pay real money and table games in Pennsylvania without the need to partner with a land-based casino.

Additionally, Bally’s is currently appealing to the PA Supreme Court for permission to establish a mini-casino in State College.

With the approval of the QGE status, Bally’s online platform will offer Pennsylvanians access to another online casino, as well as Phillies minor league baseball.

How Bally’s App Will Affect Sports Streaming

Viewers who stream minor league games on the Bally Live App will not have the option to place bets on the games. However, it is plausible that PA online sports betting may become a possibility for the top levels of professional sports.

Recently, Diamond Sports Group, a subsidiary of Sinclair known to viewers as Bally Sports, filed for bankruptcy. This network oversees the regional sports networks (RSNs) for 42 MLB, NBA, and NHL teams. Despite the bankruptcy, Diamond Sports Group’s CEO, David Preschlack, still plans to broadcast games. He hinted that baseball could transition to a streaming platform.

Impact on Pennsylvania Sports Teams

While Philadelphia sports teams remain unaffected, the Pirates and Penguins could face the consequences due to Warner Bros. Discovery’s departure from the regional sports business, which includes AT&T SportsNet. This network broadcasts these teams’ games.

The Pirates and Penguins have until the end of this month to reclaim their broadcast rights. Otherwise, the channel may undergo Chapter 7 liquidation, which could end Pirates and Penguins games in Pittsburgh households.

As RSNs continue to falter nationwide, online sportsbook and casino operators may capitalize on this trend. FanDuel PA Sportsbook has initiated this trend by purchasing TVG, allowing horse racing fans to stream races live on the TVG app.

Given the potential for cross-promotion opportunities between sports betting and online casino operators via streaming, it may not be long before fans start accessing games via a sports betting app.
