Mount Airy Casino Resort Receives License Renewal from Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board

Mount Airy Casino Resort License Renewal

The Category 2 casino license of Mount Airy #1, LLC, which runs the Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County, has been renewed for an additional five years by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board with a unanimous vote. PGCB decided that the company had met its obligations under its previous casino operator’s license and therefore qualified for a license renewal.

The decision to renew the license included both the operator and the public presenting information relevant to the renewal decision. A public input hearing was held in August 2022 in Paradise Township, the casino’s host municipality. Mount Airy Casino Resort personnel presented exhibits and testified on various aspects of the facility’s operation since its last license renewal. The Gaming Board also allowed the public to provide testimony about the casino and its impact on the community.

A Word from the Public

In addition to receiving input from the public, the Board obtained information from local government officials, community groups, the PA State Police, the Gaming Control Board’s Office of Enforcement Counsel, Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement, Office of Compulsive and Problem Gaming, and Bureau of Casino Compliance.

Before the license renewal was granted, a public hearing was held in Harrisburg to allow Board members to ask any remaining questions to Mount Airy #1, LLC representatives.
