PokerStars Prize Pool for the Pennsylvania Online Poker Tournament Series is $1.5 Million

PokerStars is starting a multi-state online poker tournament series running January 13-30. Pennsylvania has its own PSPC Online event but will have to share player liquidity with similar tournaments in Michigan and New Jersey.

These events mark a massive comeback for online poker across the country, some 12 years after poker’s Black Friday almost destroyed the online poker industry.

Players can participate in 72 events for an online poker tournament in the Keystone State, and the guaranteed prize pool is $1.5 million.

More Affordable Than Live Events

While PokerStars events in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey take inspiration from similar live events of the PokerStars Players Championship, the prize pool and participation fees are significantly lower. For example, you can join smaller tournaments for $50, or enter the main online events for $250, while main high-roller tournaments require $2500. Before the tournament, players could practice in free casino apps that pay real money.

These are all almost ten times lower fees than what aspiring poker players have to invest for live Players Championships.

Lots of Opportunities for Players

With more than 70 events, poker enthusiasts in Pennsylvania will have ample chances to prove themselves in a competitive environment. The prize pool is also attractive, and for poker players that want to turn pro, such tournaments are perfect for getting the required experience. Poker is a unique game that doesn’t take long to learn the rules, but you can spend all your life dealing with nuances. The best way to play and practice more is online poker in PA.

Pennsylvania is a unique poker market with many providers, tournaments, and players. However, the Keystone State doesn’t have cross-state agreements and is not part of MSIGA, so the poker rooms and tournaments are held separately. While that is not a deal breaker, a better inter-state connection could lead to higher prize pools and more competition.

The hyped live PokerStars series of events clearly inspire Poker Stars. Finally, online players in Pennsylvania will be able to compete with the best poker players at a higher level for more than a decent prize pool.
